ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's swimming and diving team started its 2023-24 season on the right foot, defeating Binghamton 129-105 on Friday night from Teagle Pool. Cornell picked up wins in eight events in the pool, including three 1-2 finishes.
The Big Red opened Friday's meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200-Yard Medley Relay.
Ming Xu,
Amy Wu,
Emilie Boisrenoult, and
Priscilla Wongso took home the top spot with a 1:44.84, and
Hojung Yoon,
Audrey Holden,
Anna Gruvberger, and
Joelle Ohr finished second with a 1:47.14.
Cornell also notched a 1-2 finish in the 1000-Yard Freestyle, as
Erin DeHollander (10:33.05) and
Jungmin Yoon (10:42.92) picked up the top two spots for the Big Red.
Katherine Yee had a strong showing in her first meet for the Big Red, picking up victories in the 100-Yard Butterfly (57.36) and the 100-Yard IM (59.82).
The Big Red also shined in the freestyle races, as Ohr (24.17), Wongso (51.86),
Kate Li (1:53.38), and
Allie Danko (5:08.96) each picked up victories in the 50-Yard, 100-Yard, 200-Yard, and 500-Yard events respectively.
Cornell also had a 1-2-3 finish in the 1-Meter Dive, as
Brooke Andrews,
Morgan Ogata, and
Elina Natarajan landed on the podium.
The Big Red's win on Friday is also the 18th straight over the Bearcats, dating back to the 1999-2000 season.

Cornell will round out its opening weekend with a dual against St. Bonaventure on Saturday at Teagle Pool. Diving will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by swimming at 2:00 p.m.
