ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's polo secured its first win of the spring half of the season with a 13-9 victory over the Central New York Polo Club.
Lea Jih-Vieira led the scoring charge with six, including three in the first chukker, and one in the second, third, and fourth.
CNY had a 4-3 lead after the first chukker, but Cornell battled back with two goals by
Jasmine Umrigar and a Vieira goal to lead 6-5 at halftime. It was all Cornell out of the break, with three goals from Umrigar and a fourth by Vieira to lead 10-7 at the end of the third chukker, and goals from Vieira, Umrigar, and
Lara Chong sealed the deal with a goal each in the fourth.
