PHILADELPHIA — The No. 8-ranked Virginia women's squash team used a trio of three-game victories in the top five positions to defeat No. 5-ranked Cornell, 6-3, in the Big Red's regular-season finale at the Penn Squash Center on Sunday afternoon.
Seniors
Sivasangari Subramaniam and
Ania LaDow, and freshman
Alysa Ali registered victories in their respective matches against the Cavaliers.
Subramaniam improved to 9-0 on the season with a five-game victory over Meagan Best. It was Subramaniam's 27th consecutive collegiate victory and marked the first time she played five games since Jan. 22, 2022, against Harvard's Hana Moataz.
LaDow posted a three-game victory over Nicolina Tessitore in her match at the No. 8 position, 11-7, 11-7, 12-10, while Ali defeated Sydney Maxwell in four games at No. 6, 15-13, 9-11, 11-4, 11-5.

Looking Ahead
Cornell will return to action next weekend when it takes part in the College Squash Association National Championships in Philadelphia. The tournament begins on Friday, Feb. 17. Matchups will be announced at a later date.
