ITHACA, N.Y. - The University of Virginia comes to the Oxley Equestrian Center on Friday, February 17th at 7 p.m. to face off against the Big Red in a highly competitive match.
Virginia has already beaten the Big Red this year when they hosted the UVA Polo Fall Tournament in October. The match ended in a score of 8-6 in favor of the Cavaliers, the closest game in between the two teams in years.
Cornell is coming off a major win last week against Tinicum Park, outsourcing their opponents 27- 8 and starting off the spring stretch with a win.
Pablo Herrera scored nine of those points through eight even though he appeared in only two of the four chukkers.
Virginia has won the last three matchups against Cornell, with the biggest margin coming in October 2021 when they beat the Big Red 21-1. The closest matchup in the last few years was earlier this season when Cornell lost by only two points, leading to a very important matchup this weekend as Cornell aims to end their three game losing streak against the Cavaliers.
