ITHACA, N.Y. — Coming off its third-place finish at last weekend's ECAC Indoor Championship, the No. 24-ranked Cornell men's tennis team will host a trio of dual matches this weekend at the Reis Tennis Center.

Cornell, who had its eight-match win streak snapped with its loss to No. 14-ranked Harvard last Saturday, enters this weekend with an 8-1 overall record.

The Big Red will host a pair of matches on Saturday when it plays No. 52-ranked Indiana at 1 p.m. before hosting Hobart at 4 p.m. No. 30-ranked Oklahoma State will face the Big Red on Sunday with doubles matches beginning at 1 p.m.

Sophomore Radu Papoe remains ranked in the top-125 of the ITA's singles rankings, coming in at No. 99. Papoe recently lost his first singles match of the spring season last Sunday to Penn's Edoardo Graziani.

Scouting Indiana

The Hoosiers (9-2) are ranked No. 52 in the first computerized rankings of the 2023 spring season.

After losing to No. 23-ranked Louisville, 4-0, on Feb. 17, Indiana recorded a 5-2 victory over Western Michigan on Feb. 19.

Sam Landau is a perfect 7-0 on the year in singles matches, all of which have come at the No. 3 position. Ekansh Kumar (7-2) and Patrick Fletchall (7-3) have also recorded seven victories in dual matches this season.

Indiana's tandem of Kumar and Luka Vukovic have won eight of its nine completed matches so far this spring. All of their matches have come at the No. 3 position.

Saturday's match will be the fourth all-time meeting between Cornell and Indiana. After losing to the Hoosiers, 4-3, in 2015, the Big Red has posted consecutive victories of 4-3 and 4-0 over Indiana.

Scouting Hobart

Saturday will be Hobart's second match of the spring season. The Statesmen will open its 2023 portion of the schedule at Le Moyne on Friday.

Hobart posted a 16-7 record last year and split its pair of matches against Division I opposition, defeating Niagara, 4-3, and falling to Colgate, 7-0.

Cornell and Hobart will be playing each other for the first time in program history.

Scouting Oklahoma State

Like Indiana, Oklahoma State is ranked in the top-75 of the computerized rankings at No. 30.

The Cowboys have an 8-2 overall record and have won its last three matches against Washington, No. 21 Middle Tennessee State, and Vanderbilt.

Oklahoma State's Isaac Becroft and Tyler Zink are currently assuming the final ITA doubles ranking at No. 60 in the most recent update.

Cornell posted a 5-2 victory over Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., as current Big Red players Vladislav Melnic, Papoe, and Adit Sinha posted victories in their respective singles matches.
