Stoltz Leads #5 Women’s Squash to Victory Against #8 Columbia

ITHACA, N.Y. — McKenna Stoltz's four-game victory at the No. 9 position gave No. 5-ranked Cornell women's squash team a 5-4 victory over No. 8-ranked Columbia at the Belkin Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon on the Big Red's Senior Day.

In what was a competitive match, the largest margin of victory between Stoltz and Columbia's Aleeza Khan came in the final game when Stoltz posted an 11-6 win, solidifying the victory for the Big Red (9-3, 5-2 Ivy League).

Senior Sivasangari Subramaniam (No. 1), sophomore Ananya Dabke (No. 4) and senior Alexis Shatzman (No. 7) each posted three-game victories for the Big Red.

Freshman Alysa Ali won in five games, coming back from a 2-1 deficit against Kiroshanna Manoharan.

Junior Wen Li Lai saw her 15-match win streak come to an end with a straight-game loss to Chan Sin Yuk at the No. 2 spot on the ladder. Lai and Yuk battled in a marathon third game, which favored Yuk 21-19.

Freshman Aishwarya Khubchandani and senior Ania LaDow each lost in five games in their respective matches.

Looking Ahead

Cornell will play its remaining two regular-season contests next weekend in Philadelphia when the Big Red plays No. 4 Drexel and No. 7 Virginia.
