ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 28-ranked Cornell men's tennis team will return to action on Saturday when it faced No. 60-ranked Penn State at the Sarni Tennis Center in University Park, Pa.
Doubles action between the Big Red and Nittany Lions is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. Match action will be broadcast on

Cornell, who is 11-2 on the year, lost to SMU last Saturday in Dallas, 5-2. Sophomore
Radu Papoe claimed the Big Red's first point after winning his match at No. 1 singles via a forfeit. Fellow sophomore
Nathan Mao was the only other victorious Cornell player as he won in three sets at No. 5 singles. Despite losing the doubles point, junior
Samuel Paquette and freshman
Petar Teodorovic posted a 6-4 victory at the last doubles position.
The 11 wins is the best 13-match start for the Big Red since opening the spring portion of the 2016-17 schedule with a 12-1 record.
Scouting Penn State
Penn State, who is ranked No. 60 nationally in the most recent ITA rankings, is coming off a 4-3 victory over Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Fla., last Saturday.
The Nittany Lions, who are 13-3 on the year, boasts a 10-1 home record, and has won its last four matches at the Sarni Tennis Center. Penn State is currently riding a three-match win streak after defeating Bryant and Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., on March 4 and 5, and Florida Gulf Coast last weekend.
Miko Eala has a Penn State-leading 12 wins on the year, eight of which have come at the No. 3 position. The Nittany Lions have a 12-3 record in matches played at the No. 3 position this season.
Loren Byers and Sam Bossem have been nearly unstoppable this season in doubles, posting a 10-2 record in dual matches. They have an 8-2 mark at the No. 2 position. Charl Morgan and Malik Bhatnagar will look to snap their five-match losing streak as they started the year with an 8-0 mark at the top doubles position.
Looking Ahead
Cornell will return to the Reis Tennis Center for a two-match homestand, beginning Sunday, March 26 when it hosts VCU at 11 a.m. The final non-conference match of the season will take place on Saturday, April 1, when the Big Red welcomes Western Michigan to Ithaca for a 1 p.m. start.
