ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 36-ranked Cornell men's tennis team will travel to New England this weekend when it takes on No. 15-ranked Harvard on Saturday and Dartmouth on Sunday.

Cornell, who is 14-4, is looking to improve upon its 1-1 Ivy League record after splitting its pair of games last weekend against No. 52-ranked Penn and No. 50-ranked Princeton.

Sophomore Radu Papoe continues to rank within the top 125 in the ITA's singles rankings, coming in at No. 86. Papoe enters this weekend riding a seven-match win streak. He has won his last eight overall matches, but one came via forfeit. This year, Papoe has a 13-1 mark this spring in singles matches.

Scouting Harvard

The No. 15-ranked Crimson enter this weekend with a 15-5 overall record and a 3-0 mark in Ancient Eight play.

Harvard has won five of its last six matches, including its last three over Dartmouth, Yale, and Brown. Over its last three victories, the Crimson have conceded just three points.

Henry von der Schulenburg is ranked No. 30 in the most recent ITA singles rankings, while Harris Walker is right behind Schulenburg at No. 34.

The tandem of Daniel Milavsky and Walker is No. 60 in the ITA's doubles rankings.

Walker has a team-leading 12 singles victories this spring, while von der Schulenburg (10-2), Valdemar Pape (10-4), and Milavsky (10-6) also have 10-plus victories.

Cornell will be seeking its first victory over Harvard since winning the ITA Indoor Championship on Feb. 16, 2020. The program's last victory in Ivy League play came on April 15, 2018, when it won 4-3 in Ithaca.

The Big Red lost to Harvard, 4-1, earlier this year in the semifinals of the ITA Indoor Championships in Hanover, N.H., back on Feb. 14. A 6-3 victory by by senior Vladislav Melnic and Papoe and a 7-6 (10-8) win by freshman Petar Teodorovic and junior Samuel Paquette solidified Cornell's lone point of the match.

Scouting Dartmouth

Dartmouth has an 11-10 overall record and a 1-2 mark in Ivy League play entering this weekend's pair of matches.

The Big Green has lost seven of its last eight matches, as the lone victory came to Brown last Friday in 5-2 triumph in Providence.

Henry Ren has a team-high 13 victories in singles this spring, while Hikaru Takeda (12-7), Miles Groom and Carlos Guerrero Alvarez (both 10-10) also have double-digit win totals this season.

Groom and Waleed Qadir have a 9-7 record at the top doubles spot this season for the Big Green. Guerrero Alvarez and Takeda also have nine wins at the No. 3 doubles position.

Cornell has won its last three matches against Dartmouth, dating back to 2019.

Looking Ahead

Following this weekend's pair of matches, Cornell will return to the Reis Tennis Center for its final two home matches of the season when it will host Brown on April 22 and Yale on April 23. Both matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. starts.
