Maicie Levitt and
Emma Antich from their respective bases, to give the Big Red an early 3-0 lead.
Julie Hilcken took advantage of a wild pitch, racing her way to the plate from third-base to tack on another run. Marist trimmed the score to 4-2 in the fourth, with runs coming from Haley Ahr and Maddie Pleasants. Four fifth-inning runs from the Red Foxes pushed them into the lead for the first time of the day, 6-4. Marist got hot again in the sixth-inning, registering five tallies to extend their lead to 11-4, which would prove to be insurmountable.
