BUFFALO, N.Y. — Junior forward
Maddie Leroy scored late in the first half and fellow junior goalkeeper
Erica Fox made four stops in her season debut as the Cornell women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Buffalo at UB Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Leroy's goal was her team-leading second of the season for the Big Red (2-0-2), who extended its unbeaten streak to six games with the draw.
Buffalo posted its fifth consecutive non-losing result as Katie Krohn recorded her third goal in her last two matches for the Bulls (3-1-2).
"Similar to our other draw, we're happy with lots of things. I think it's a good result on paper, but we're disappointed we didn't win it," Cornell women's soccer head coach Rob Ferguson said. "I thought we had enough moments, and the bigger moments, to win it. It was a great game of soccer. I'm very happy with what the players put into it."
Fox made three of her four saves in the contest over the opening 20 minutes. The highlight of Fox's saves came in the 20th minute when she made a stop while in a prone position in front of the goal, robbing Olivia Bizzoni of a go-ahead goal.

Buffalo leveled the contest at 1-all in the 58th minute as Krohn capitalized on an open net as Fox attempted to pick up a loose ball within the 18-yard box.
Sophie Weeter (64th minute) and
Ava Laden (75th minute) logged the final two shots on goal in the contest, but Thompson saved both attempts.
