ITHACA, N.Y. - The #25 Cornell men's soccer team gets set to host the defending national champion, #7 Syracuse Orange, in it's home opener on Tuesday Sept. 19. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Berman Field.

The Last Time Out
The Big Red met the Orange in 2022, in an NCAA Tournament match at Syracuse. The Syracuse counterattack in the final eight minutes after one of Cornell's best chances of the night was the difference as the Orange advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals with a 1-0 win over the Big Red on Sunday afternoon at SU Soccer Stadium. Syracuse would go on to capture the national title.
Players To Watch
Alex Harris (Cornell) - Harris was named to the Ivy League honor roll list, after a five point performance in the 4-2 victory against Canisius. Alex netted his first collegiate goal, which was followed by another to give him two goals in the game. He would follow up with the first assist of his career, on the third goal that stretched the Big Red's lead to three. Against UMBC, Harris netted the lone Cornell goal of the game on a penalty-kick. The first-year forward currently leads the team in goals, points, shots, and shots on net.
Kisa Kiingi (Cornell) - Kiingi was recognized as a part of the College Soccer News Men's National Team of The Week for his performances against New Hampshire and Canisius. He was the culprit of the goal that Cornell needed to top New Hampshire 1-0 on the road, and solidified a Big Red defense that was anchored in goal by
Ryan Friedberg who had a seven save evening. Kiingi also contributed a helper on one of Harris' two goals in the win over Canisius.
Lorenzo Baselli (Syracuse) - Baselli leads the Orange in points (eight), with four goals on the season.
Mateo Laveque (Syracuse) - Four points on two goals has Laveque i tied for second on the team.
Gabriel Mikina (Syracuse) - Four points on one goal and two assists has Mikina tied with Laveque for the Syracuse second-place spot.
