PRINCETON, N.J. -- Matching the second longest punt in school history,
Jackson Kennedy earns his first Ivy Player of the Week nod of the 2023 season. As the teams primary place kicker and punter, he made an impact in both positions in week one.
In the third quarter Kennedy's made Big Red history with an 81-yard punt, the second-longest in school history. Across the game, his 47.7 yards per punt was the eight-best average in a game in school history. He also hit three field goals tying for the third-most points in a game at Cornell.
Kennedy went 2-for-2 in field goals in the fourth quarter, providing the winning points. He made both PATs, and now is 27-for-27 for his career. He was the only player in the Ivy League to kickoff, punt and placekick in the opening weekend.
Kennedy was also named to the FedEx Ground FCS Award honor roll.
Jameson Wang and Davon Kiser were named to the honor roll for their offensive efforts, and Holt Fletcher earned a nod on the defensive honor roll.
