CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Cornell men's tennis team finished its final day of Chowderfest against the University of San Diego on Sunday. The Big Red came out on the losing side, losing all matches in both singles and doubles.

Freshman Felipe Pinzon went back and forth with San Diego's Savi Danilov but ultimately fell in straight sets (4-6, 4-6). Senior Bradley Paliska was next for the Big Red, as the Lamorlaye, France native challenged Neo Niedner. Paliska kept it close through the opening set but ultimately retired, giving Niedner the 5-4 victory. Junior Samuel Paquette fell in straight sets to Stian Klassen (3-6, 2-6), but sophomore Aman Sharma defeated Christian Kuehne in two sets (6-3, 6-1). Finally, senior Muhammad Dossani picked up a 6-3 win in the second set to force his match against Nik Niranjan to a decisive third. But Dossani could not keep the momentum, as Niranjan closed out the final set (6-2) to win the match.

The Big Red also suffered losses on the double side as Pinzon and Paquette fell to USD's Sacchitt Sharma and StianKlassen (6-0). But the highlight match of the day came in second doubles, as Sharma and Dossani matched up against the Torero's Ollie Tarvet and Nik Niranjan. Sharma and Dossani did not give an inch, tying things up at 6-6 to push the set to a tiebreaker. Despite the swing, Sharma and Dossani ran out of gas, falling 0-5 in the tiebreaker and the match.

Cornell went 7-8 overall in singles and 2-5 in doubles over the three day event hosted by Harvard. The red and white have a week off of competition before heading to ITA Regionals hosted by Penn on Friday, Oct. 6-Monday Oct. 9.
