HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The Cornell golf team fed off their momentum from Saturday, climbing two spots on Sunday to finishing ninth overall in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial held at Seven Oaks Golf Club.

The Big Red carded a 295 as a team on Sunday, two shots off its tournament-low 293 from the second round on Saturday. Cornell was led by freshman Viktor Stollinger, shooting an even-par 72 to finish tied for 13th in the final standings over the 54-hole tournament.

Junior Matt Simon was right behind, carding a 1-under 71 to finish tied for 17th, making it the third-straight year that two or more Cornell golfers finished in the top 20 of the tournament. The 71 was also Simon's lowest carded round as a member of the Big Red.

Freshman Tyler Debusschere shot his best round on Sunday, carding a 2-over 74 to finish tied for 59th. Junior Jackson Debusschere finished one stroke behind younger brother, carding an 81 to finish tied for 62nd. Junior Tismark Boham shot a 78 on Sunday to finish tied for 64th, while sophomore Weston Warden shot his best round of the tournament with a 78, finishing tied for 76th.

The Yale Bulldogs took home the hardware after finishing an impressive 11-under-par 853, 17 strokes ahead of second place Villanova (870). Last years winner Seton Hall (871), Bucknell (876), and Lehigh (880) rounded out the top five for the two-day event.

Bulldogs Blake Brantley and Will Lodge were co-medalists for the event, finishing with an impressive 6-under 210, one shot clear of third place Peter Weaver for Villanova.

The Big Red will return to Watchung Valley Golf Club for the second time in three years on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11, for its Cornell Invitational in Watchung, N.J.
