ITHACA, N.Y. -- The men's squash team has a short turnaround this week when it travels to #1 Penn after improving to a 7-0 record with a win over Rochester on Tuesday. The match up is set for Friday, Jan. 19, with matches beginning at 1:30 in the Penn Squash Center.
Penn holds the all-time advantage in the series, winning 45 of 66 matches. The Quakers are 7-3 in the last ten meetings, including an active 6-0 stretch over the Big Red, which Cornell has won only a single match. Cornell's most recent win in the series came in the 2015-2016 season, when the Big Red took a 5-4 win in Ithaca.
This year though, the Big Red remains as one of six teams still undefeated, and only Penn and Trinity have beat as many teams as Cornell. The two foes have both faced common opponents Williams College and Drexel. The Ivies emerged victorious in all four contests, with Penn winning 7-2 over Drexel and Williams. Cornell topped Drexel, 5-4, and Williams, 8-1.
Following the battle at Penn, Cornell returns home to host #5 Princeton on Sunday, Jan. 19. Matches will begin at 12 p.m. at the Belkin Squash Courts.
