PLAYER NOTES
• Senior quarterback
Jameson Wang had a pair of rushing touchdowns, the sixth time in his career he's scored multiple rushing touchdowns in a game. The last Big Red player with six or more was Chad Levitt '97 with 15 games, including six in the 1995 season alone.
• His two rushing touchdowns give him 24 for his career, surpassing John McNiff '92 to move into fifth place all-time.
• It also boosted his career-scoring total to 148 points, tied with John McCombs '99 (148) for seventh in school history.
• Wang also upped his career rushing total to 1,598 yards - moving him to No. 13 on the school's career list.
• Wang closed the contest with 5,896 passing yards and is 104 shy of becoming the fifth Big Red quarterback to surpass 6,000 in a career.
• With three more touchdowns responsible for against the Bears, Wang boosted his career total of 65 and is chasing only Jeff Mathews '14, who had 81 in his career.
• Senior safety
Damon Barnes had his first two career interceptions in the contest, becoming the first Big Red player with multiple picks in a game since
Holt Fletcher intercepted two passes during the 2023 season against Lehigh. The last time a Big Red player had two picks in an Ivy League contest was when David Jones had three at Penn in 2017.
• Freshman
Tyler Gibson grabbed his first career interception. He is the first rookie to tally a pick since Nick Gesualdi '18 did so in the 2014 season finale against Penn. Gesualdi tallied three interceptions that season.
• Freshman punter
Caden Lesiewicz had a memorable effort in his first collegiate start, averaging 52.4 yards on five punts with four going at least 50 yards, including a 68-yarder, and two downed inside the 20. His 52.40 yards per punt is the second-highest average in school history (minimum five punts), just shy of four-time first-team All-Ivy selection Chris Fraser's 52.43 yards on seven punts against Harvard in 2015. His four punts of 50 or more yards in a game tied Fraser's school record from the same game.
• Senior linebacker
Luke Banbury had a career-high 13 total tackles, including 12 stops in the first half alone.
• Sophomore place-kicker
Alan Zhao was true on all three PAT kicks. He has now made 18-of-19 PAT kicks and all six field goals this season for 36 points, a total that leads the team.
• Junior wide receiver
Parker Woodring has career-high totals in catches (18) and receiving yards (178) while catching four touchdowns, including a score in each of his last two games.
• Sophomore wide receiver
Samuel Musungu's nine catches for 68 yards give him 23 receptions in his past two games - the most by a Big Red player since Grant Gellatly posted 25 in consecutive games against Colgate (13) and Harvard (12) during the 2013 campaign.
• Musungu is already 33rd in Cornell history with 72 receptions in his first two seasons and is eight from joining the top 30.
Senior defensive back
Michael O'Keefe (12) and senior safety
Trey Harris (10) both recorded career highs in tackles.
TEAM NOTES
• Brown now leads the all-time series between the teams 39-31-1, including 21-14 in Providence.
• Cornell has a 314-258-14 record in the month of October
• Cornell sports a 83-52 record all-time in games decided by a field goal or less.
• The Big Red offensive line did not allow a sack for the third time in six contests and has surrendered just three for the season - the second fewest in the FCS and the 10th fewest in all of college football.
• Cornell was credited with 90 total tackles, the most by the Big Red in a game since it posted 94 against the Bears in 2021 and the most in a league road game since it had 103 against Dartmouth in 2015.
• Cornell's three interceptions were the most in a game since picking off three passes against the Bears last season, and the most in an Ivy road game since it intercepted four at Penn in 2017.
