The Last Time Out - vs Dartmouth
The Cornell men's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Ivy League foe Dartmouth from Burnham Field.
The first half was a defensive clinic with neither team bending on surrendering a goal. Big Green net-minder Costi Christodoulou was tested early and often, but held his ground in the opening frame.
Cornell dictated the shots on goal category in the first half, leading that total 5-1. Sophomore goaltender
Ryan Friedberg saw less action, but stopped the lone shot that would test him.
Cornell came out fast in the second half, putting a shot on the net in the first minute of play. Moments later, Cornell all-time freshman goal leader
Alex Harris opened up the scoring column in the 50th-minute to give the Big Red a 1-0 advantage. Three minutes later,
Westin Carnevale and Harris found
Balazs Feher, who would extend his point-streak to four games by tacking on a Big Red goal.
Cornell would hold Dartmouth to zero shots on goal in the second half. Friedberg registered one save on the night, and earned his second shutout victory of the season.
