Quartet Post Three-Game Sweeps as #9 Men's Squash Defeats #11 Williams

ITHACA, N.Y. — Four players earned three-game sweeps as the No. 9-ranked Cornell men's squash team (2-0) defeated No. 11-ranked Williams (1-1), 7-2, at the Belkin Squash Courts on Sunday afternoon.

Seniors Aaron Liang (No. 1), Arnaav Sareen (No. 2) and Rohan Iyer (No. 6), and sophomore Arnav Tevatia (No. 9) were the Big Red players to win in straight games.

Freshman Youssef Sarhan improved to 2-0 in his collegiate career, posting a four-game victory at the No. 4 position. Sarhan claimed the final three games, 11-4, 12-10, 11-7, to avenge dropping the first game, 11-8.

Senior Shreemann Raghavan also won in four games at the No. 7 position and fellow senior Tanay Punjabi claimed Cornell's only other victory in five games, highlighted by winning the final two games by 11-8 and 11-5 scores.

Sophomore Syan Singh had his eight-match win streak snapped, losing in four games to Williams' Jack Lee, 11-2, 9-11, 9-11, 7-11.

Freshman Roman Bicknell battled with Causey Green in five games, coming back from a 2-0 deficit with victories of 11-7 and 11-3. In the decisive fifth game, Green posted an 11-9 victory.

UP NEXT
Cornell will return to the court on Saturday, Dec. 7, when it travels to Medford, Mass., to face No. 10-ranked Tufts (2-3) at the Tufts Squash Center. First matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. Match action will be streamed through PlaySight.
