ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 8-ranked Cornell women's squash team (1-1) posted a clean sweep over No. 14-ranked Williams (0-2), 9-0, at the Belkin Squash Courts on Sunday afternoon.
Eight of the nine victories featured Cornell winning in straight games. Sophomore
Christa Kay came back from a 2-1 deficit at the No. 5 position against her older sister, Theresa Kay, by posting 11-6 victories in the fourth and fifth games to claim the sibling rivalry.
Xin Ying Yee won her match at the No. 1 position to improve to 2-0 on the season. She defeated Melanie Wang in straight games, 11-4, 11-9, 11-5.
Freshman
Sabine Ball also improved to 2-0 on the year, defeating Anika Kakarla at the No. 7 position. Ball dropped just four points across her three-game victory, 11-1, 11-1, 11-2.
