Men's Squash Drops to #10 Virginia in Round of 16 in the Potter Cup

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- No. 7-seeded Cornell fell to No. 10-seeded Virginia in the opening round of the Potter Cup on Thursday afternoon in a 5-4 battle at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center. With the loss, Cornell dropped to 9-7 while Virginia improved to 10-8.

In the contest, Veer Chotrani kept his perfect record this season with a win in the No. 1 match, and Syan Singh posted a three-game sweep in the No. 4 match.

No. 1 Match: Veer Chotrani def. Taha Dinana, 11-9, 9-11, 11-4, 11-6.

No. 2 Match: John Paul Tew def. Aaron Liang, 11-5, 11-7, 11-6.

No. 3 Match: Arnaav Sareen def. Myles McIntyre, 4-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-3.

No. 4 Match: Syan Singh def. Arhan Chandra, 11-3, 11-5, 11-9.

No. 5 Match: Krishna Mishra def. Spencer Yager, 13-11, 11-4, 11-7.

No. 6 Match: Petr Nohel def. Rohan Iyer, 11-7, 11-8, 11-2.

No. 7 Match: Shreemann Raghavan def. Francis Hajek, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7, 12-14, 12-10.

No. 8 Match: Maxwell Velazquez def. Morgan Huberman, 11-8, 10-12, 11-5, 11-7.
