Women's Hoops Hosts Yale in Saturday Matinee

  • Cornell women's basketball is back in action this weekend with a Saturday matinee vs. Yale.
  • The Big Red will face off against the Bulldogs on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m.
  • Cornell was selected seventh in the Ivy League preseason media poll. Cornell finished 10-17 in the 2022-23 season, ending at seventh in the Ancient Eight. The Big Red tallied a road win over Brown and a sweep over Dartmouth in conference play.
  • After its victory over Dartmouth, Cornell is now in sole possession of seventh place in the conference.
  • Freshman Azareya Kilgoe has the hot hand for the Big Red, shooting .440 from the field and .500 from beyond the three-point arc. In her past two outings, she notched 14 points each. Only two of the 28 points came at the free-throw line.
  • The 5'4'' point guard has grabbed 11 rebounds over the same stretch.
  • Freshman Rachel Kaus has followed, shooting .500 from the field and 1.000 from three, tallying 10 and nine points in the last two outings.
  • Senior captain Kaya Ingram has also tallied double-digits in the past two outings. She grabbed 12 on a 6-of-12 performance against Dartmouth, and 11 against Harvard, with a 7-of-8 shooting performance from the charity stripe.

  • The Big Red's defense held the Crimson second-fewest points in Ivy play, but Harvard took home the 63-52 victory on Saturday afternoon.
  • Azareya Kilgoe and Kaya Ingram each added a double-digit point performance to the season, tallying 14 and 11, respectively.
  • Kilgoe added seven rebounds and Ingram tallied a team-high four assists. Emily Pape led the Big Red at the boards with nine rebounds, while also grabbing two steals.
  • Summer Parker-Hall matched her season-high blocks with two.
  • Katie Krupa led the Crimson with 24 points as half of her double-double. The sophomore forward also grabbed a career-high 10 boards.
  • Harvard had one other double-digit scorer in Lola Mullaney.
