PARIS, France - Kyle Dake '13 advanced to the 74 kilogram semifinals of the 2024 Olympic Games following a dominant first session. Dake outscored his opponents, Anthony Montero Chirinos (Venezuala) and Younes Emami (Iran), 21-1 in the opening rounds.
In his opening match against Montero Chirinos, Dake rattled off five unanswered take downs in the first round to secure a 10-0 technical fall victory. In match two, Dake secured a fall in the second period over Emami after taking a 11-1 lead.
Dake will return to the mat this evening in the semifinal round against the no. 4 seed Daichi Takatani of Japan during session two. The session is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. ET.
