Men's Soccer Opens Up Ivy Play Against Defending Champ Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Cornell men's soccer team gets set to open up Ivy League play against the Yale Bulldogs on Saturday, September 26th at 5:00 p.m. at Reese Stadium.

Syracuse Recap
The Cornell men's soccer team defeated the Syracuse Orange 1-0 on Tuesday night at SU Soccer Stadium. The Big Red improved to 5-0-2, while the Orange dropped to 3-3-3.

Connor Miller registered the lone Big Red goal in the contest. Ryan Friedberg collected five saves and his fourth shutout of the season.

The Last Time Out - vs Yale
Last season, the Cornell men's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Yale Bulldogs on senior night from Berman Field.

Both teams stood up defensively on the back-lines in the opening half, allowing just two shots on goal between the squads. The Bulldogs got on the board 27 minutes into game when Max Rogers found the back of the net to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

The second-half was more of the same, as both teams kept their oppositions shots on goal to a minimum. Yale tacked on another critical goal in the 84th-minute to seal an impressive victory against Cornell.

Big Red Players To Watch
Alex Harris - Harris is off to a strong start again this season. The sophomore forward puts pressure on goaltenders, as he has generated 17 shots on goal through seven games. He currently stands at 12 points on five goals and two assists.

Alioune Ka - Ka has been a reliable goal-scorer for the Big Red in the early season. He continues to be shifty in the offensive zone, consistently finding goals in timely situations. He currently holds six points on the year on three goals.

Connor Miller - Miller has been a catalyst during the first seven games of the season. He has registered 6points coming on two goal and two assists.

Ryan Friedberg - Friedberg has played every minute in net for the Big Red so far this season. In four games, he has posted a 5-0-2 record to go along with four shutouts.
