Yee Posts Straight-Game Victory as #8 Women's Squash Falls to #1 Harvard

ITHACA, N.Y. — Sophomore Xin Ying Yee recorded a straight-game victory over Harvard's Saran Nghiem to improve to 6-0 on the season as the No. 9-ranked Cornell women's squash team (4-2, 1-1 Ivy League) fell to the top-ranked Crimson (5-0, 3-0 Ivy League) at the Belkin Squash Courts on Sunday afternoon, 8-1.

Yee needed extra points in the first and third games, dealing Nghiem her first loss of the season, 13-11, 11-3, 14-12.

Seven of Harvard's eight victories came in straight games as the No. 9 match between Harvard's Emma Carney and freshman Kahjin Yap resulted in Carney winning by default.

No. 7: Amira Singh def. Sabine Ball, 11-5, 11-4, 11-6.
No. 8: Brecon Welch def. Saniya Jaggi, 11-5, 11-3, 11-3.
No. 9: Emma Carney def. Kahjin Yap, by default.

UP NEXT
Cornell will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when the Big Red travels to Philadelphia to face No. 10-ranked Drexel (5-3). First matches between the Big Red and Dragons from the Kline & Specter Squash Center is scheduled for 6 p.m.
