Raghavan, Sareen Log Five-Game Victories as #9 Men's Squash Falls to #7 Drexel

PHILADELPHIA — Seniors Shreemann Raghavan and Arnaav Sareen each registered five-game victories as the No. 9-ranked Cornell men's squash team (5-2) dropped a 7-2 decision to No. 7-ranked Drexel (6-3) at the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Wednesday evening.

Raghavan outlasted Charlie Taylor in the decisive fifth game, 15-13, to register the victory at the No. 5 position, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 6-11, 15-13, improving to 7-0 on the season.

Sareen upped his mark to 6-1 with his triumph over Guido Lindner at the No. 2 position as the sides alternated victories throughout the match, 12-10, 4-11, 11-2, 5-11, 11-5.

Senior Aaron Liang (No. 1) and freshmen Youssef Sarhan (No. 3) and Roman Bicknell (No. 7) all fell in four games for the Big Red. Liang and Sarhan both won the first game of their matches before dropping the next three games.

No. 7: Dumitru Goian def. Roman Bicknell, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8, 11-6.
No. 8: Sean Murphy def. Arnav Tevatia, 11-4, 11-4, 11-9.
No. 9: Tavneet Singh Mundra def. Jeh Pandole, 11-4, 12-10, 11-6.

UP NEXT
Cornell will remain in the Philadelphia area for its next two matches as the Big Red will face a pair of Ivy League opponents in No. 3-ranked Princeton (5-0, 1-0 Ivy League) and top-ranked Penn (11-0, 1-0 Ivy League) on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Friday's match with the Tigers is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at the Tigers' brand-new squash facility in Princeton's Meadows neighborhood. Match action will be broadcast live on Stretch Internet. Saturday's contest with Penn is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
