PRINCETON, N.J. — Freshman
Youssef Sarhan posted a come-from-behind victory over Hollis Robertson to post the lone victory over the day for the No. 9-ranked Cornell men's squash team (5-3, 1-2 Ivy League) as it dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 4-ranked Princeton (6-0, 2-0 Ivy League) at the brand-new Racquet & Recreation Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
Sarhan fell behind 2-0 as Robertson posted 11-4 and 11-7 victories in the first two games, but was able to prevent Cornell from being swept as he won the next three games, 12-10, 11-9, 12-10, to improve his record on the season to 6-2.
All eight of Princeton's victories came in straight games. Senior
Rohan Iyer and sophomore
Arnav Tevatia were the lone Big Red players to force extra points in their three-game losses as Iyer fell in the second and third games at the No. 5 position to Hassan Khalil by 13-11 scores. Tevatia dropped the third game to Andrew Glaser at the No. 8 match, 14-12.
Senior
Shreemann Raghavan saw his season-opening seven-match win streak come to an end as Princeton's Thomas Rosini prevailed at the No. 6 match by 11-8, 11-4, 11-2 scores.

Cornell will conclude its three-match road trip when it squares off against top-ranked Penn (12-0, 2-0 Ivy League) on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Penn Squash Center. First matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. Match action will be broadcast on Stretch Internet.
Dating back to last season, the Quakers have won its last 15 matches — highlighted by defeating Trinity, 7-1, this past March in the Potter Cup finals to claim the program's first-ever CSA national championship.
The Quakers have won the last seven matches against the Big Red, five of which have featured Penn posting 9-0 triumphs. Cornell will be seeking for its first victory over Penn since edging the Quakers, 5-4, on Feb. 14, 2016, in Ithaca. The last time the Big Red won on the Quakers home court was on Feb. 10, 2013, when it prevailed by a 7-2 score.
