PHILADELPHIA — The No. 8-ranked Cornell women's squash team (5-4, 1-3 Ivy League) battled with No. 3-ranked Penn (9-1, 3-0 Ivy League) as the host Quakers posted a clean sweep at the Penn Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.
Seven of the nine victories for Penn came in four or five games, including a trio of five-game victories at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 positions.
Malak Khafagy posted a come-from-behind victory over
Xin Ying Yee in the No. 1 match, handing Yee her first loss of the season. Khafagy registered 11-9 and 11-8 victories in the fourth and fifth games, avenging a 2-1 deficit.
Aishwarya Khubchandani also held a 2-1 lead after the third game in the No. 2 match against Frank Vidovic, but the Penn sophomore held Khubchandani to just six points over the final two games, 11-4, 11-2, to post the victory.
Sophomore
Maya Voloshin forced a decisive fifth set after trailing 2-0 to Jana Dweek, who won the first two games, 11-9, 12-10. Voloshin recorded victories of 11-4 and 11-6, but ultimately fell in the fifth game, 11-6.

Saniya Jaggi (No. 7), and freshman
Kahjin Yap (No. 8) all fell in four games for the Big Red.

Select players from the Cornell women's squash team will participate at the 2025 CSA Individual Championships in New York City next weekend.
The tournament, which will run coincide with the prestigious J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, will begin on Saturday, Jan. 25, and run through Tuesday, Jan. 28. Saturday and Sunday's matches will be held inside Open Squash — FiDi before moving to the Tournament of Champions Glass Court inside Grand Central Terminal, where the Pool and Ramsay division semifinals and finals will take place.

Cornell alumna Sivasangari Subramaniam will be participating in the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, where she will face Amanda Sobhy in her first-round match on Thursday, Jan. 23, at approximately 2:45 p.m. inside the Glass Court at Grand Central Terminal.
