Women's Polo to Face Top Foes at UVA Fall Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. -- After opening the 2025-26 campaign with a comeback victory, the Cornell women's polo team will get an early test against elite competition at the UVA Fall Invitational this week in Charlottesville, Va.

The Big Red will open tournament play on Friday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. against the winner of Virginia and Kentucky. Depending on the result, Cornell will face either Texas A&M or USC Aiken on Sunday, Oct. 26, with the consolation match set for 11 a.m. and the championship scheduled for 1 p.m.

Cornell enters the weekend at 1-0 after rallying from a four-goal halftime deficit to defeat Marlan Farm, 12-11, on Oct. 18 at Oxley Equestrian Center. Naomi Marlough led the Big Red with six goals, sparking a 9-2 run that flipped the match in the second half. Lara Chong added three goals, and Samantha Iahn scored twice in her collegiate debut.

All matches will be played at the Virginia Polo Center, with the full weekend schedule below:

Wednesday, Oct. 22
4 p.m. - Women's Game 1: Virginia vs. Kentucky

Friday, Oct. 24
4 p.m. - Women's Game 2: Winner Game 1 vs. Cornell
6 p.m. - Women's Game 3: Texas A&M vs. USC Aiken

Sunday, Oct. 26
11 a.m. - Women's Consolation Round Robin
1 p.m. - Women's Final
3 p.m. - Women's Trophy Ceremony at the Beh House
