CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The no. 24-ranked Cornell men's soccer team played the Harvard Crimson to a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field. The Big Red slid to 11-2-2, while the Crimson moved to 5-5-5 on the season.
Although being out-shot on the totals, the Big Red was able to pressure Harvard net-minder. Cullen MacNeil was tested four times, but he would stand tall against all of those attempts. Reece Campbell was responsible for two of those, while
Sam Latona and
Giorgos Diakos also produced a shot-on-goal each.
Ryan Friedberg finished the game with two saves between the pipes. He completed his seventh individual shutout of the year.
"I thought a tie was a fair result today. Our usual sharpness wasn't quite there and it impacted us on both sides of the ball. Harvard played with more desperation than we did—so credit goes to them and their staff for getting them ready",.
John Smith, the Dr. Daniel P. Wood Head Coach of Men's Soccer mentioned.
"We will look to get after it this week as we prepare for a big game next weekend against Columbia.", Smith concluded with.
