ITHACA, N.Y. - The no. 20-ranked Cornell men's soccer team have been selected to face the Lafayette College Leopards on Thursday, November 20th at 5:00 p.m. at Berman Field in the first round of the 2025 College Cup. This marks the third time in four seasons that Cornell has made the NCAA Tournament.

The Big Red has made it's mark on each of it's last two tournament appearances. In 2022, Sophomore
Danny Lokko scored twice in a wild final 10 minutes, aiding the Cornell men's soccer team to its first NCAA Tournament victory since 1977 with a 2-1 win over Maryland at Berman Field. The Big Red would fall in the third round against the eventual national champion, Syracuse Orange on the road at SU Soccer Stadium.
In 2024, The Cornell men's soccer team used a second-half surge to advance past the Fordham Rams 4-2 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on at Berman Field. The Big Red fell to the Pittsburgh University Panthers 1-0 in the next round at Ambrose Urbanic Field to bring that run to a close.
"Whenever you are still training at this time of year it means you have done something good, and so I'm super happy for the guys to have another opportunity to get out there and play on Thursday when we face Lafayette", Smith concluded with.
