ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's polo team jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back, advancing to the finals of the William S. Field Invitational with a 17-7 victory over Kentucky on Thursday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red advanced its record to 6-2 and will play for the tournament title on Saturday.

Lara Chong,
Samantha Iahn and
Naomi Marlough had two goals apiece in the first chukker and the Big Red was off and running. Cornell led 10-2 at halftime and closed out with a 4-1 run in the fourth to win by double-digits.
Marlough had six goals, Iahn posted four and Chong tallied three, while reserve
Eva Scott tallied three times in the fourth.
Cornell will play the winner of the Colorado State-Virginia game for the crown on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. at Oxley Equestrian Center.
