ITHACA, N.Y. — Sophomore Griffin Mandirola and junior Aryan Abbaraju of Cornell men's cross country have been named Second Team All-Ivy following standout performances at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025. Junior Tyler Canaday earned Academic All-Ivy recognition for his excellence both on the course and in the classroom.
Mandirola led the Big Red with a 10th-place finish in 24:42.4, while Abbaraju followed close behind in 14th with a time of 24:49.6. Their efforts helped Cornell secure a spot on the podium, placing third overall for the fourth consecutive year.
This season, Mandirola — a transfer from the University of Connecticut — made an immediate impact in his debut campaign with the Big Red. He opened the year with a fourth-place finish (15:34.2) at the CU Opener and posted consistent performances at the Paul Short Invitational (33rd, 23:53.3) and Princeton Fall Classic (35th, 23:51.8).
Abbaraju continued his upward trajectory in his junior season, improving from a 41st-place finish at Heps in 2023 to 14th this year. His 2025 campaign included strong showings at the CU Opener (2nd, 15:34.2), Paul Short Invitational (24th, 23:48.1), and Princeton Fall Classic (32nd, 23:47.0).
Canaday, recognized with Academic All-Ivy honors, had a steady fall season highlighted by a 34th-place finish at Heps (24:11.1) and a 43rd-place performance at the NCAA Northeast Regional (31:03.4). A consistent contributor since his freshman year, Canaday continues to be a leader both athletically and academically for the Big Red.
Mandirola, Abbaraju, and Canaday will be part of the squad representing Cornell at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.
