NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Cornell women's squash sophomores
Xin Ying Yee and
Maya Voloshin each posted straight-game victories as the No. 8-ranked Cornell women's squash team (5-5, 1-4 Ivy League) fell to No. 7-ranked Yale (4-4, 2-3 Ivy League) by a 7-2 score at the Brady Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.
Yee cruised past Heng Wai Wong, 11-8, 11-2, 11-5, marking the second time in six days that the Cornellian posted a victory over Wong.
In the quarterfinals of the Ramsay Cup at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships this past Sunday in New York City, Yee registered an 11-8, 11-8, 11-9 victory over Wong, signifying the fourth time in the last five tournaments that a Cornell women's squash player had reached the final four of the Ramsay Cup. Former Big Red standout Sivasangari Subramaniam '23, reached the championship match on three occasions (2019, 2022, 2023) and lost in the semifinals in 2020.
Voloshin recorded her fourth victory of the season, snapped her five-match losing streak, after defeating Meha Shah in three games, 11-8, 11-8, 11-4. All four of Voloshin's victories this year have come in straight games.
Senior
Ananya Dabke (No. 3) and freshman
Sabine Ball (No. 7) both lost in five games. Ball had a 2-0 lead on Whitney Taylor, but the Yale junior roared back with victories of 11-9, 11-6, 11-6. Dabke led 2-1 over Christy Lau, but was only able to muster seven points over the final two games, 11-6, 11-1.

Aishwarya Khubchandani (No. 2),
Alysa Ali (No. 4), and
Devon Shatzman (No. 9), and sophomores
Christa Kay (No. 5) and
Saniya Jaggi (No. 8) all lost in four games, with the latter four opening their respective matches with first-game victories.
