ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell men's lightweight rowing program begins the spring portion of its schedule this weekend when it travels to Princeton, N.J., to participate in the National Collegiate Lightweight Invitational.

Racing will take place over two days and begin on Saturday with a trio of races, beginning at 4:10 p.m. On Sunday, racing will take place between Columbia, Cornell, Navy, and Penn with a quartet of races, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

"The team is eager to get on the racecourse after an incredibly productive winter training block," said Tyler Nase, the Henry E. Bartels '48 Head Coach of Cornell Men's Lightweight Rowing. "The frozen inlet gave us additional time on the erg, and this is one of the fittest teams I have ever been a part of. I could not be prouder of how the guys approached the winter, both in terms of their work ethic and their mentality around getting faster.

"This has been a truly special group to be a part of. The senior class has led with purpose and set the tone for what it means to be a C150. The junior class made tremendous strides this year, with every member showing significant physiological and technical improvements. The sophomore class has embraced their leadership role, doing an excellent job of onboarding the freshmen and instilling the traditions of the program. And the freshmen have brought unmatched energy and tenacity, pushing the entire squad to new heights."
