ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's tennis team will attempt to claim another signature win when it heads to Waco, Texas to face No. 14 Baylor on Sunday, March 9 at 12 p.m. CT at Hurd Tennis Center.
The Big Red enters the week ranked No. 31 nationally with a 9-4 record - all four of its losses have com to teams in the top 40 of the ITA rankings. Big Red head coach Silviu Tanasiou has a 179-102 record in his 14 seasons on the sidelines for the Big Red. Senior All-American
Radu Papoe is 16-5 on the season to lead Cornell's singles lineup at No. 1, with
Adit Sinha going 12-7 while playing in the top three spots on the ladder.
Baylor brings a 10-6 mark and a three-match win streak into the competition, including most recently a 4-1 triumph over No. 16 Illinois last Saturday. Three members of its lineup are ranked in the top 100 in the ITA singles list with Devin Badenhorst leading the way at No. 40, four spots ahead of the Big Red's top singles player. Four different Baylor doubles combinations sit in the top 80 of the rankings with Marko Miladinovic and Oskar Brostrom Poulsen sitting at No. 15 overall for head coach Michael Woodson's squad.
