Khubchandani Posts Victory as #8 Women's Squash Falls to Top-Ranked Trinity

PHILADELPHIA — Junior Aishwarya Khubchandani registered a four-game victory in the No. 2 match as the No. 8-seeded Cornell women's squash team (7-8) suffered an 8-1 setback to top-ranked Trinity (16-1) in the quarterfinals of the Howe Cup bracket at the CSA National Team Championships on Friday morning at the Arlen Specter Squash Center.

Khubchandani avenged dropping the first game, 11-8, to Jana Safy by posting 11-5, 11-2, 11-7 victories.

Trinity posted five victories in straight games while Xin Ying Yee (No. 1), Alysa Ali (No. 3), and Sabine Ball (No. 6) dropped their matches in four games.

No. 5: Kara Lincou def. Maya Voloshin, 11-8, 11-1, 11-9.
No. 6: Lujan Palacios def. Sabine Ball, 11-7, 11-6, 6-11, 11-3.
No. 7: Janna Ashmawy def. Saniya Jaggi, 11-7, 11-3, 11-0.
No. 8: Fabiola Cabello def. Devon Shatzman, 13-11, 11-7, 11-5.
No. 9: Varvara Esina def. Kacey Mollenkopf, 11-4, 11-4, 11-5.

UP NEXT
Cornell will face No. 4-seeded Stanford (9-4) in the second consolation semifinals on Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. Match action will be streamed live on YouTube and take place on courts 8 through 10.
