ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell University Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning Erika Rogan has been named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa), the organization's highest honor.
Rogan received the distinction at the CSCCa's Annual National Conference held May 5-7 in Indianapolis. She was formally inducted on Tuesday, May 6, receiving her master's jacket and certificate at the Master Strength & Conditioning Coaches dinner and ceremony during the conference.
She joins an elite group of only 265 coaches nationwide who currently hold this certification.
"This is undoubtedly the highest honor that can be achieved in the strength and conditioning coaching profession," said Dr. Pat Ivey, CSCCa Board President. "It represents professionalism, knowledge, experience, expertise, and longevity in the field."
To earn MSCC status, coaches must meet rigorous criteria, including holding a bachelor's degree, being a full-time collegiate or professional strength coach for at least 12 years, maintaining CSCCa membership, and holding the organization's NCCA-accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification.
According to the CSCCa, Rogan has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the field and is highly respected by her peers and co-workers.
"I'm proud of Erika for earning the distinction of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach," said Jay Andress, Associate Director of Athletics for Strength and Conditioning, and Rogan's mentor. "She is a gold standard ambassador of the strength and conditioning profession, and an incredible leader and resource for our department and student-athletes. Coach Rogan is incredibly deserving of this honor, and it was a privilege to present her Master's jacket at our national conference!"
