Martin Claims Ivy League Defender of The Week Nod

| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. - Sophomore defender Aidan Martin has been named Ivy League Defensive Player of The Week. Martin notched three points on a goal and an assist in Cornell's 3-0 season-opening shutout victory over the LeMoyne Dolphins at Ted Grant Field. Senior defender Andrew Johnson was tabbed with honor roll distinctions. Johnson registered the opening goal of the game and led the Big Red back-line in an effort where it only allowed a single shot-on-goal.

"Aidan's overall performance was excellent. He was clean in possession and did a great job of shutting his side down defensively. Whenever, as a full back, you score, assist and clear one off the line in a game, that's certainly one to remember.", John Smith, the Dr. Daniel P. Wood Head Coach of Men's Soccer mentioned.
