Men's Tennis Set for Ivy-Filled Yale Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's tennis will look to pick up where it left off in last weekend's season-opening event when the Big Red heads to Connecticut for the Yale Invitational beginning on Friday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. The Big Red will be among four Ivy League squads among the five participating schools.

Cornell will test itself against Ivy contenders Columbia, Princeton and the host Bulldogs, as well as NJIT. Competition begins on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and continues on both Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.

Sophomore Rodrigo Fernandes went a perfect 6-0 to lead the Big Red  in its 2025-26 season debut at Harvard's Chowderfest, sweeping all three singles and three doubles matches with freshman partner Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar. Freshman Nathan Gold also impressed with a 3-0 singles mark, while Petar Teodorovic and Senthil Kumar added individual wins as the Big Red tallied 11 singles victories and five doubles wins across three days against teams from Harvard, Illinois, SMU, Brown, Yale and Boston University.
