LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Sophomore
Shep Davis sits tied for second individually and the Cornell men's golf team is third in the 13-team field after round two of the Columbia Autumn Invitational was suspended because of darkness Saturday at Lake Placid Club's Links Course. Play will resume Sunday, Oct. 4.
The Big Red led the field after the opening 18 holes, posting a 5-under team score that put it one shot ahead of Merrimack. With most of the field still on the course in round two, Cornell is 3 under for the tournament, three strokes behind second-place Colgate (-6) and eight back of host Columbia (-11), which is 12 under in round two.
Davis has been the steadiest player on the leaderboard for Cornell. He opened with a 3-under round and is 3 under again through 17 holes of round two, putting him at 6 under for the tournament. That has him tied with Dartmouth's Tyler Brand for second, three strokes behind Columbia's Tom Yu (-9), who has completed both rounds.
