ITHACA, N.Y. — The 10th-ranked Cornell men's squash team dropped its Ivy League finale to fourth-ranked Yale, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at Belkin Squash Courts.
The loss, Cornell's eighth straight setback, dropped the Big Red to 4-9 overall and 0-6 in Ivy League play. Yale improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in conference action. The Bulldogs maintained its dominance in the all-time series as Yale now holds a 65-3 all-time advantage.
Sophomore

Aly Ezzat each claimed hard-fought five-game victories, respectively, at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
Ezzat had an impressive comeback at the No. 3 position, overcoming Arav Bhagwati after dropping the second and third games. Ezzat won 11-5, 9-11, 7-11, 11-5, 12-10, capping the victory with a nail-biting 12-10 fifth game.
Sarhan, the team's leading winner this season, battled back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Lachlan Sutton at No. 2, 7-11, 14-12, 8-11, 12-10, 11-3. The sophomore improved his dual match record to 8-4 overall and 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
Yale seized control of the match with straight-game victories at five positions. The Bulldogs also claimed a five-game decision at No. 8, where Bennett Eun outlasted freshman
Vivaan Shah, 11-6, 11-3, 7-11, 7-11, 11-5, after Shah had rallied to even the match at 2-2.

Cornell will play its final regular-season match of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 18, when it travels to face No. 20 Rochester (5-5). Match action from the Lyman Squash Center is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
The Yellowjackets defeated Haverford, 8-1, in the semifinals of the Liberty League Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y. Rochester will battle the host Saints for the Liberty League title on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Across the previous 84 meetings between the Big Red and Yellowjackets, Cornell has a 64-20 lead in the all-time series and has won the last five meetings. Rochester has not defeated Cornell since edging the Big Red, 5-4, on Dec. 4, 2019.
