ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team used a high-powered attack to run past Montana State 33-9 on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red improved to 8-1 on the season while starting the spring campaign off with a victory.
Cornell led 26-1 at halftime with
Max Sponer scoring 16 times before the end of the second chukker.
Malachi Light scored eight first-half goals and
Dylan Tung netted three before giving way to reserves in the second half.
Mihali Pinzon had three goals in the second half and
Fin Maroney capped the scoring for the Big Red's first 30-goal game since the 2023-24 season.
The Big Red returns to action against the Denver Polo Club on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.
