Ketkar, Marsee Put Cornell on the Podium at NCAA Northeast Regional

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Cornell fencing collected two medals at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Sunday, March 8, as senior Ketki Ketkar claimed silver in epee and junior Samantha Marsee earned bronze in saber.
 
SABER
Trisha Nath, Samantha Marsee and Reya Ghayalod each advanced to the top-12 pool in saber, with Marsee going on to earn bronze  behind Yale's Sophie Liu and Harvard's Madison Duckett. Marsee won seven of her 11 bouts en route to bronze, while Isabela Carvalho finished 4th, Trisha Nath 5th in the finals with Ghayalod placing 11th. It was the first time ever, Cornell placed four in the finals in any weapon.
 
EPEE
Ketki Ketkar, who won the Ivy Epee Individual title and earned bronze at regional in 2025, finished with a silver medal on Sunday, posting a 10-1 record in the round of 12. Nora Weber went 5-6 in the round of 12 and Columbia's Tierna Oxenreider earned gold.
 
FOIL
Lana Lee was the lone member of the Big Red in the round of 12 in foil, posting a 2-9 record to finish 12th overall.
 
NEXT UP
NCAA qualifiers will be officially announced on Tuesday, March 11. The championships will be held beginning on March 19 hosted by Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
