ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell jumped out to a 16-0 halftime lead and never looked back as the Big Red toppled Kentucky 23-9 on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The home team improved to 10-3 on the season with the victory.
Lara Chong scored 12 first-half goals, including the first eight of the contest as the Big Red cruised to victory.
Eva Scott tallied three goals,
Samantha Iahn and
Naomi Marlough had two apiece and Big Red reserves Callie C, Julia L , Aloyse M and Grace R combined for the remaining three tallied.
Cornell was never threatened after halftime, though the Wildcats scored three of the first four goals after halftime and held a 9-7 scoring advantage in the final two chukkers.
The Big Red close out the regular season when it welcomes Marlan Farm to Oxley Equestrian Center on Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m.
