ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell University Polo program will celebrate its storied history and honor generations of excellence during a special weekend of events, highlighted by the 2026 Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony and the annual Student Awards Banquet.
The weekend begins on Friday, May 1 at 4:30 p.m. at the Oxley Equestrian Center, where four distinguished alumni will be inducted onto the newly refurbished and redesigned Cornell Polo Wall of Honor. This year's inductees include Anna Winslow-Palacios '16, Jimmy Greenwell '67, Guillermo Sanz de Santa Maria '67 and Glenn Armstrong '66, each recognized for their lasting impact on the program and contributions to the sport.
The ceremony will also serve as a tribute to one of the program's defining achievements - the 60th anniversary of the 1966 men's polo national championship team. The Big Red's historic 12-10 victory over Yale on March 12, 1966 remains a cornerstone moment in Cornell polo history. Members of that championship team will be in attendance, including current Wall of Honor inductees Peter B. Orthwein '68 and Dale Chambers '67.
The weekend continues on Saturday, May 2 with the Cornell Polo Student Awards Banquet and Celebration at The Hotel Ithaca. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. as student-athletes, alumni, family and supporters gather to recognize the accomplishments of the current program and reflect on another successful year.
