ITHACA, N.Y. --- Cornell equestrian's
Alexa Carey will compete at the IHSA National Championships from May 1-3 in Mill Spring, N.C.
The sophomore qualified for nationals after finishing as reserve champion in introductory at the Zone II Championships on April 4. Carey has been dominant in introductory competition throughout the 2025-26 season, recording seven first place finishes including victories at Cornell Show II, Alfred Show II and the Ivy Show.
Carey also captured the regional championship in introductory at the Regional Championships on March 8 at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red finished second in the region overall at regionals, and team horse Ren was named Regional Horse of the Year.
Cornell compiled a strong 2025-26 season with five High Point Team titles through nine shows. The Big Red earned High Point Team honors at RIT Show II, Cornell Show I, Nazareth Show II, Cornell Show II and the Ivy Show. At the Ivy Show,
Estelle Azurin was named High Point Rider and
Charlotte Warmington was Reserve High Point Rider for Cornell.
