THE SEASON SO FAR
Cornell men's golf has navigated a challenging 2025-26 campaign through six tournaments, leaning heavily on the play of freshman
Shep Davis and junior
Tyler Debusschere as the Big Red prepares for the spring stretch.
Davis, who arrived in Ithaca from Thomasville, Ga., has been a revelation in his first collegiate season. The freshman carries a 74.69 average and has served as the team's low scorer in four of six events. He owns the team's best individual finish, a tie for eighth at the Red Bandana Invitational in Verona, N.Y., and matched Debusschere with a first-round 69 at the Columbia Autumn Invite.
Debusschere is second on the team with a 75.13 scoring average and posted the squad's best 54-hole total of the season, a 214 (+1) at the Columbia Autumn Invite in Lake Placid, N.Y. He also carded the team's lone under-par tournament, a two-under 142 over 36 holes at the Matthews Auto Collegiate Invite in Apalachin, N.Y., where he tied for 11th.
As a team, the Big Red posted a season-best 869 at the Columbia Autumn Invite, its strongest showing of the fall. Cornell opened the spring slate at the Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., finishing tied for 17th in an 18-team field.
NEXT UP
Cornell will take part in the Roar-EE Invitational hosted by Columbia on Saturday April 18, the programs final tournament before the Ivy League Championship on April 24-26.
