ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell lightweight rowing team fell to MIT in a pair of races on Saturday morning at the Cayuga Inlet. The Big Red finished second in both the varsity eight (6:08.3) and second varsity eight (6:28.2) behind MIT, which posted times of 6:06.5 and 6:26.4, respectively.
"MIT's varsity is a great crew. They have 6 returners from their 3rd place IRA crew. I was proud that we raced them to a close margin. I felt like we didn't handle the conditions that well and as a result didn't quite row our best strokes.",
Tyler Nase, the Henry E. Bartels '48 Head Coach of Lightweight Rowing mentioned.
"We learned a lot and are back to work in our final prep before sprints. JV has continued to show progress, but gave up about a length off the start. It was awesome to see them battle back the entire last 1k, but came up short.", Nase concluded with.
