ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's soccer team was picked to finish second in the 2026 Ivy League Preseason Media Poll released on Monday by the league office. The Big Red will be in search of its first Ivy title since 2012, as well as its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

Princeton, the defending Ivy League regular season and tournament champion, was tabbed the preseason favorite with 123 points and 14 of the conference's 16 first-place votes. The Big Red picked up the other two first-place votes and finished with 111 points, ahead of Penn (94), Harvard (79), Brown (59), Dartmouth (41), Yale (39) and Columbia (30).

It's the second straight year Cornell has been picked second in the preseason poll — a projection the Big Red backed up in 2025 with a program-best-tying 14-4-2 record, a 5-1-1 mark in Ivy play, and its first-ever appearance in the Ivy League Tournament championship game.

Cornell kicks off the 2026 campaign when it visits Marist on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
