ITHACA, N.Y. -- After picking up a big road victory over nationally-ranked Yale, the Cornell field hockey team has swept the weekly Ivy League Awards with junior Uma Kading (Offensive) and senior
Julia Ramsey (Defensive) taking home honors.
Kading had a goal and assisted on the game-winner in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the 15th-ranked Bulldogs. Her score in the 16th minute put the Big Red up on a penalty corner, and her drive across the goalmouth to
Blake Wilks with three minutes to play broke a 2-2 tie and served as her 50th career point. She became the 16th player in school history to reach that milestone, with her 22 goals moving her to 12th all-time for the Big Red.
Ramsey was part of a Big Red defense that faced 15 shots and nine corners on the road against Yale. The senior was credited with two assists on penalty corner goals, giving her 38 for her career (No. 2 all-time at Cornell). She ranks third among active NCAA field hockey players in all divisions in career assists.
Cornell will continue Ivy play when it hosts Brown on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at Marsha Dodson Field.
